Sick in College

So, I’m sick.

It’s just a cold, but I’ve been sick for about a week now. It’s a really weird experience being sick in college for the first time because, surprise surprise, you have to take care of yourself!

My wonderful mother isn’t available to buy me Gelson’s chicken noodle soup, tissues, or microwave my tea for me. When I’m sick at home I’m typically pretty good at taking care of myself, but it’s kinda sad not having my usual support system.

I’ve been doped up on DayQuil and NyQuil (NyQuil dreams are crazy) since last Sunday and I’ve had around 28 cups of tea (ginger - recommended by Jack, throat coat - by Traditional Medicinals, black, earl grey, and green). I’ve been sleeping in more, but honestly still staying up just as late.

Long story short, I’m definitely ready to not be sick anymore. Being sick makes me feel almost useless as a human being for reasons I can’t really explain (I’ve tried).

Also, feeling mixed emotions about going home for Thanksgiving, but I’ll post about that later!
